Family and Fun
I love summer. Things just seem to always be buzzing around, places to go, people to see, family to enjoy.
Auntie Lena came into town!
We traveled to Sundance on a little excursion

June 2012
The past couple weeks have been a whirlwind; my world sort of stopped with Madison being in Kansas (I miss my girl), I was called into the Young Women's Presidency, Cy started an intense swim lesson program, I took a scuba class with one of my best friends, Mike's in the Dominican Republic (hopefully no arrests this time), my brother and his family moved to Utah after living in the Bay area for 10 years, in one weekend we celebrated my birthday, attended a neighborhood BBQ, and hosted a garden party for 60 Dane's (and cleaned and managed all the yard work and set up). Now we are gearing up for a night at the Rodeo! Here are some highlights we captured on camera.
You can barely see Cy here who is traumatized that he has to come back home. He loves his little friend Elle and all the golf carts riding around our neighborhood.
In one week we spotted a red tail fox, a snake, our friends the squirrels and eagles, a raccoon AND a deer at our house.
Our back yard all manicured and lovely for the party
Smørrebrød for the Rebild guests
These were the cutest little Danish Grandmas and Grandpas that my mother has known and loved for years.
My birthday: the bonus this year...Mike actually wrote and sang me a song!
This is probably the most hilarious movie ever...I think Cy learned his moves from his dancing drill team sister. I have to find someone to blame this on.

Farewell Mads
Madison is officially done with 10th grade and off to Kansas on a paid internship for 6 weeks. This is the longest I've ever gone with out my big girl...the last time we spent more than a couple days apart was when I left for a month to compete on the Amazing Race. Saying goodbye was just as hard this time, I don't know why. I just love that girl more than life. We've had some rough patches as we try to delicately manage her while trying to give her freedom and let Mads make her own choices. I feel like such a failure at times trying to raise a teen. If only she'd do exactly what I say, then everything would be perfect!

Memorial Weekend
Our Anniversary happens to fall over Memorial weekend, so in lieu of a romantic date night we opted to spend a fun filled weekend with the kids and our good friends the Hartsfields in their Snow Canyon vacation home. We swam, explored, caught tadpoles and little frogs, the men golfed and we enjoyed great weather and company. Thanks Hartsfields for a memorable trip!

Little Esti at 15 months old
She loves rough housing and playing with her Dad and Cy the most
I love these kids
One highlight of the trip was our ride home. Esti would not stop whining and crying, and poor Cy who has sensitive ears had to sit next to her. This is his attempt to make her happy...it's so sweet and our favorite part is at the end where he says "self sooth". Who needs a television when you have a Cy!
