Cousins

Cy had such a great time with his cousin Miles this summer before he headed out to North Carolina.

I'm 33!

We had a lovely BBQ at our house for my birthday with family.  The weather was great and so was the food...too bad we never seem to pull off a family photo these days.

Big Brother

Cy has been a handful of naughty energy lately, possibly because he's jealous of a new sister or simply because he's a 3 year old (and his father's son).  As I was on the computer the other day, Esti started crying.  A few minutes later I noticed she stopped and thought she fell asleep only to find Cy had crawled up into her crib with books and toys and was reading to her.  I was so proud of him and am grateful to have these moments in between the chaos.
Have you ever seen a picture so ugly that it's hilarious?  This is how I feel of Esti's expression here

Lagoon Day

A couple weeks ago we were able to enjoy an entire day at Lagoon with Mike's work.  We had a blast and Cy surprisingly wanted to go on every ride his height allowed for.  Little Esti was a dream as we traded watching her so we could all take advantage of the rides.  I haven't been to an amusement park since Madi and I lived in Denmark and I almost forgot how much fun it is.

Cy singing...I mean Dane

For the past several weeks Cy insists on being called Dane (my little brother's name), though occasionally he will put on a tie and say he is Grandpa Tom or Papa Lee.  He feels so powerful and cool as you can see in this video where his voice deepens as he gets into character.  He takes this very seriously and if we laugh at him he gets very frustrated so we just have to go along with it.

"Hello!" Book of Mormon on Broadway

There were most certainly a couple songs in this musical I wasn't comfortable with, but as a whole I found it to be very entertaining and funny.  It's most definitely not for kids or the faint at heart (or those who refuse to see rated R movies), but it definitely was not as humiliating or offensive towards Mormons as it could have been.  My thoughts are that Mormons should use this as an opportunity to share what we really believe in and to educate our children on the realities which aren't always positive about our faith and its history.

Old Stomping Grounds

Mike and I decided a trip was overdue since we haven't traveled since last summer.  We decided to visit our old friends and family in New York this past weekend since May is one of my favorite months there.  Unfortunately we experienced some pretty terrible weather, but had a great time with everyone enjoying great restaurants shopping and the latest hit on Broadway "The Book of Mormon", which (minus a couple songs I didn't like) was hilarious.
I could put a really great subtitle here about how Rachel is our more traditional sister wife like Nicolette in Big Love, but the truth is that she was on her way to a pioneer trek event.

Mother's Day 2011

This is my favorite Mother's Day to date...I now have 3 wonderful children and a home much more comfortable than our little place in New York.  I'm so blessed (or just lucky) to have a great husband and 3 healthy kids who I love dearly.  Happy Mother's Day to all the mothers, aunts, friends and sisters who take such good care and show so much love to mine and their own!

Happy Easter

This Easter was uneventful due to the fact that we are moving AGAIN this weekend (though just a mile away). Luckily our friends, the Stucki's, had a big Easter bash in their yard complete with a bounce house, food and of course an egg hunt.

The Kennedy's

Mikes good friend Jared, his wife Jillian and their little boy Caden came to Utah for a little visit.  Though it was fun to see the two babies together, it was even more thrilling to see how grown up, responsible and wonderful these good looking single "players" have become.  I think Jillian and I can take credit for the dreamy fathers and husbands they've turn into. (hehe)

Esti's Blessing

This past weekend Mike's parents flew in from Kansas for Esti's baby blessing.  We like to keep things private and chose (as with all our kids) to bless her at home rather than church.  It was so wonderful to have some family attend and participate and to see Esti in our traditional GUF baby basketball outfit that all my siblings and many nieces and nephews were blessed in.
