The Amazing Race (and girls)

It was my little sisters birthday yesterday, and I couldn't help but reflect on all the memories we shared together competing on the Amazing Race. Here's a slide show of our highlights.

Papa Lee Visits

My Dad was on the East coast for business and decided to visit us over the weekend on his way home. We had so much fun showing him our life in Westchester including Madi's school and dance studio, and hanging out in Manhattan. Madi and Papa Lee went to Mary Poppins together while Mike and I shopped around the West Village. Papa Lee took advantage of being in NYC and stuffed himself with hot dogs every couple of hours.

Cy's Progress

When my Mom asked me the other day if Cy is walking, I realized how much I've been neglecting downloading current videos of Cy's progress. He has been able to walk for a while, but lacked the drive to go more than a few steps. This past week he has finally gained the confidence to go for it. Here are some videos you might like to see of your grand baby (almost 14 months old)!

Rock Band with Good Friends

Living in such a crazy economy here in New York, it's nice to see even our Wall Street friends can cut loose and rock out, even if they are still wearing half their suit and blackberry holsters. Nice touch Dan!

Madi was blessed with a creative gene, something I don't think I will ever obtain. She decided over our winter break rather than buy beautiful feathery hair pieces in SOHO for $30, she was going to make her own. We took a drive over to Michael's craft store and bought a bunch of feathers, headbands, and sparkly pieces. She made all of these 100% on her own, they are simply beautiful Madi!

Little Ballerina

Those who know Madi, are fully aware that she is a free spirit who can sometimes be a bit forgetful and even unmotivated. Madi IS forgiving, sweet, thoughtful, caring, and thinks like a true artist by "stopping to smell the roses" in life...all things I could benefit learning from. Fortunately she has found a passion for ballet and dances 3x a week, including pointe which is helping her weaknesses become her strengths. She is developing so much character, poise, posture, discipline, and love for herself and ballet. This is a warning to you Madi...I'm going to push you with this because I see how happy it makes you (even when it's hard), and I think you're a true talent!

Cy during the Festival

While Mike and I played, Cy hung out with his cousins and friends in Utah. Thanks Mom, Dad, Anne and Rene for helping us out!

We got stung....by Sting

My girlfriend, Lisa met me at the Sundance Film Festival for the movie premiere "Moon" starring Sam Rockwell. Since my buddy bought the film, we were given the VIP treatment and sat near David Bowie, Sting and his wife during the film. We then went to the after party where Sting enjoyed a 30 minute conversation with Lisa...you still have it little lady!

Me and Lisa

Swag house

Typically I'm the one "hooking" Mike up at the festival, but this year he managed to get us VIP passes to The Yard (aka Swag house)where we both got a bag full of free clothes, shoes, hair products, make-up, purses, etc.

Gillian and I went to my buddy Scott's birthday party which we celebrated with Chris and Danny Masterson and Ed Helmes (Andy from The Office). I have to say, Ed was so nice (a little shy), and even invited me to ski with him the next day. Of course I said no thinking it wouldn't be appropriate since I'm married. After I told Mike about the offer, he replied "why didn't you go, you should have". He's certainly not the jealous type!

Partying!

Mike and I had a blast seeing movies and partying in Park City. Here are a few we met (meaning hung out at the same party with...we only spoke to about five of them)....Mike Tyson, Kevin Bacon, Kyra Sedgwick, Russel Simmons, Cuba Gooding, John Krasinski, David Bowie, Sting, Sam Rockwell, Andy MacDowell, Virginia Madsen, Jeff Daniels, Ewan McGregor, Denise Richards.

Girls Weekend

It's been two years since I've had a girls trip, so we decided to combine our Christmas break with a weekend get together. Gillian, Julie, Lisa and I had a fabulous time shopping, eating lunch at some delicious restaurants, relaxing at the Kura Door Spa, and topping it off with an MMA fight. And yes, it was totally white trash and scary...as someone recently said to me "you can take the girl out of Pleasant Grove, but you can't take Pleasant Grove out of the girl".

New Years Eve

We jumped around on New Years eve starting out at a grungy club in Salt Lake City with our friends Justin and Julie. After getting smoked out, we decided to jump over to another party close by, where our friends Adam and Nicole (as seen in the first photo) were. We had a blast dancing, but I think Justin preferred sitting on the side lines laughing at us and our sweet dance moves.
