Messy Eating
I have to admit, I'm a late starter at giving Cy real food. He only started eating solids daily at about 7 or 8 months, but now wants nothing to do with the slimy baby food. He gets completely offended when we eat dinner at the table and leave him playing on the ground. He wants to be in the middle of everything, which is why I allowed him to give it a go the other night. It didn't take more than a few seconds till he tipped over the celery and ranch dressing and proceeded to make a huge mess everywhere. Mike and Madi were completely grossed out at the greasy spectacle, but I could help but let him go to town...he was so proud of himself and loved crunching away at the celery.
Volleyball Game
Here's a little video of Madi's first volleyball game. She's pretty good after only a week of practices. She may be the only girl on the bench who sits with her legs crossed and delicately points her feet when she hits the ball, but I'm so thrilled she has found a sport she likes. She is still my little artsy kid and is taking ballet and point 3 times a week along with chorus.

Rocking Out
One of Cy's favorite things to do is jump in his bouncer while we play Rock Band. We decided to give him a try at the drum sticks while we were watching a documentary about The Clash. He went nuts, and pretended to be playing. Unfortunately by the time I got our camera, he was getting tired and cranky, but you get the idea.

The Joy of Reading
I just love this video of Cy reading. It's so fun to see how the simplest things make him so happy to the point where he can hardly control himself. I think the only thing that gets me that excited is traveling to new places. I think I'll work a little harder at enjoying every day life, which is certainly a lot cheaper!
