Foxcatcher

For those of you who've been in our family or circle of friends for years, you know about how long Mike has been working to get Mark Shultz's story told.  I remember when we first got married I told him after two years he would have to give it up.  Well 7 years and counting it's still been hovering over us and I'm sure for Mark Schultz even more so.  Mike's partner got Bennett Miller to commit to directing the movie (Bennett directed Capote and Moneyball).  Now Steve Carrell is attached and a few other A-listers.  Here's to hoping the movie is finally made!!!

My Kids

This week I've just been trying to keep up with all my motherly duties, yet somehow I seem to always fall short.  Either I'm not very good at this or you mother's with more than 3 kids are truly amazing (or crazy and disorganized too).  This is a such a wonderful time in my children's lives and I am so happy to see them grow and learn everyday without missing a thing.   Though it's still hard for me to settle down without wanting to work for a paycheck and going out "to play".  I even attempted to negotiate a monthly salary from Mike so I could see some cash in my hands to keep me going.  In the meantime I'm working on enjoying these years of domestic life, some days are easier than others.
Cy very serious at play (he was a warrior this day)

Drill Team

Mads did a great job the other night performing with her Drill Team.  Other than wanting to sock the boys behind me who were acting like dogs (you can hear them), it was a wonderful night.  Mads is the long lean lanky one in the right/front!

This Week

This week Cy started Preschool.  I remember when Madison started I cried and wanted to keep her home, not so with this guy.  Those who know Cy know that he is a wonderful, intense, energetic, theatrical and tiring boy...he NEVER stops.  I was in heaven to have a couple hours with just Esti cleaning and running errands.  This will most certainly be my life saver!
So happy with his name tag and bag!
Showing how big he is before preschool
His buddies Penelope and David
Preparing for school he teaches Esti
Performing Surgery on Esti (giving her apple juice as medication)
Wearing Madison's old clothes!
Can you tell I love this outfit!  Gee

Cy loves dressing like his Dad on Sunday

Here's my leg 5 days after surgery...still not very pretty

Bear Lake

The last time I went camping was two years ago in New York...it's quite inconvenient and takes a lot of time to pack for little children, food, toys, emergency items, bedding and tents, etc.  However, we decided it would be fun to check out Bear Lake with friends and family since we've never been.  This was especially adventurous for me since we left 2 hours after I had surgery and woke up from anesthesia.  I couldn't ruin a fun family weekend so I decided we would still go.  The family had a great time though I was jealous that I couldn't get into the water or do much of anything with my healing leg.

Pour Some Sugar on Me!

Mike and I finally went on a date (hard to do with a baby) to the Def Leppard/Heart concert.  It was hilarious to see the performers with big hair and bedazzled microphones.  Even more entertaining was scoping out the attendees, many who were drunk and playing air guitar.  As much of a spectacle as they were I have to admit I knew every song.  I should have ratted my hair more and worn a sparkly belly shirt with jeweled pants...then I really would have fit in!

Hayden and Kiaya

One of my best friends, Hayden from Chicago, came to visit last weekend with her daughter Kiaya.  Hayden and I met when we competed against each other on the Amazing Race and have been close ever since.  We had such a great time and I am in awe that she was willing to travel pregnant with a toddler!
